far-reaching change by enforcing and strengthening environmental laws on behalf
of hundreds of organizations and communities.

Combining conservation biology with litigation, policy advocacy, and an
innovative strategic vision, the Center for Biological Diversity is working to
secure a future for animals and plants hovering on the brink of extinction, for
the wilderness they need to survive, and by extension for the spiritual welfare

- Mimi Fishman Foundation
The Mimi Fishman Foundation, a non-profit organization established in 1999 by
Miriam "Mimi" Fishman and David Shulman, was founded as a vehicle to raise
funds for various charities. Mimi Fishman (mother of Jon Fishman, drummer for
the band Phish) was diagnosed with glaucoma as a teenager. She spent many years
educating the public regarding the value of testing for glaucoma at an early

Strangers Helping Strangers is a non-profit organization of music fans
dedicated to holding charitable food drives at concerts and music festivals to
help those in need in the communities where events are held. Since their first
food drive in 1998, SHS has has collected well over 30,000 items for charities
from Maine to Delaware and as far west as California.
