Mimi Fishman Foundation

The Mimi Fishman Foundation, a non-profit organization established in 1999 by Miriam "Mimi" Fishman and David Shulman, was founded as a vehicle to raise funds for various charities. Mimi Fishman (mother of Jon Fishman, drummer for the band Phish) was diagnosed with glaucoma as a teenager. She spent many years educating the public regarding the value of testing for glaucoma at an early age, to give treatment a much better chance of having a positive affect rather than if the glaucoma developed at a later stage.

Strangers Helping Strangers

Strangers Helping Strangers is a non-profit organization of music fans dedicated to holding charitable food drives at concerts and music festivals to help those in need in the communities where events are held. Since their first food drive in 1998, SHS has has collected well over 30,000 items for charities from Maine to Delaware and as far west as California.

Waterwheel Foundation

The Waterwheel Foundation was created by Phish in 1997 to oversee the band's various charitable activities. These include the Touring Division, the Lake Champlain Initiative and the Vermont-based Giving Program.

The White Buffalo Children's Foundation

The mission of The White Buffalo Day Children's Foundation is to inspire children to embrace and contribute to their cultural heritage, as well as gain a deeper understanding and respect for other cultures. This kind of mutual respect across cultural boundaries discourages the trend of street violence, drugs and other kinds of abuse, aggression and self degradation. It is our goal to produce and manage long term educational programs and projects that employ a cultural exchange between inner city youth here in New Orleans, and the youth of indigenous nations living on reservations across The United States. Many youth are disconnected from their community, family, history, and the land, The White Buffalo Day Children's Foundation seeks to reconnect, restore, and bring healing to these children.
