Rock
the Earth's First Benefit Show Rocks San Francisco
After
an inspirational semi-annual retreat in the heart of San Francisco,
our volunteer staff joined together at the Connecticut
Yankee to host our first benefit show for Rock
the Earth. It was an exciting collaboration of artists, with
Matt
Butler's Jambay Trio, joining musical forces with
the Geo
Trio, David
Gans, Randy Berge and Hali Hammer for some mind-blowing
music to Rock the Earth! After an introduction by the men
behind it all, Tim Lynch and RtE Executive Director, Marc
Ross, we enjoyed some inspirational acoustic music by Randy
& Hali. Following Randi and Hali, Jambay Trio took the
stage. With Matt Butler on percussion and didgeridoo, Chris
Hauger on electric guitar and Mike Sugar on bass, this trio
had the crowd rockin'. The acoustic styling of David Gans,
along with the Jambay trio, was a remarkable combination of
musical inspiration. To follow this with the energy and talent
of the Geo Trio, featuring Kai Eckhardt, Alan Hertz and Eric
Levy of Garaj Mahal, was more than enough to keep everyone
on their feet. The smiles on everyone's faces proved that
this show was a masterpiece beyond anyone's expectations!

Not only
was there incredible music rockin' the crowd at the Connecticut
Yankee but, thanks to the generosity of several eco-friendly
businesses and many supportive artists, we also had an amazing
display of raffle and auction items that included signed posters,
eco-friendly products and even original artwork by Michael
Everett! The auction raised over $600 thanks to
these kind folks!
Thanks
to the support of the Bay Area artists, members and music
fans, Rock the Earth's first benefit show raised over $1,500!
It was an incredibly successful, fun and memorable event that
not only raised money for RtE, but raised the spirits and
energy of everyone involved in this organization! We cannot
thank you all enough for your support! Our heartfelt appreciation
goes out to Fritz Frisbee, Tim Lynch, the Jambay Trio, the
Geo Trio, David Gans, Randy Berge, Hali Hammer, Michael Everett,

| Rockin'
the Planet in the Circle of Life
Rock the
Earth was thrilled to participate in the 2nd annual We
the Planet Festival of Music, Consciousness and
Activism, presented by Julia "Butterfly" Hill's
non-profit organization Circle
of Life and produced by the Spitfire
Agency. This zero-waste event brought together
environmental organizations, eco-friendly businesses, artists
and activists for a powerful illustration of the spirit, vision
and ambition of the environmental movement. With music by
The Roots, Michelle Shocked, Third Eye Blind, Mickey Hart
and Joan Baez, spoken word by Woody Harrelson, scrumptious
vegan fare, compostable dinnerware, and organizations raising
awareness about ethical business practices as well as social,
environmental and civil justice around the world, this event
raised the bar for environmental responsibility. This was
an inspiring opportunity for Rock the Earth to join forces
with other individuals and organizations doing what they can
to protect our planet! We met some incredible people, signed
up a few new members and connected with organizations and
individuals that believe together we have the power to Rock
the Earth!

| Coming
Soon to a Venue Near You!
Our Volunteer
Staff continues to rock the country, spreading the word about
Rock the Earth at music events nationwide. This Friday, November
19th, Rock the Earth will have a table at the Boulder Theater
in Boulder, Colorado for the Everyone
Orchestra performance, benefiting Conscious
Alliance. This manifestation of the Everyone Orchestra
will be conducted by Jamie Janover and includes Michael Travis
of the String Cheese Incident, Kai Eckhardt of Garaj Majal,
Peter Apfelbaum of the Trey Anastasio Band, EO Founder Matt
Butler, Liza Oxnard, the Animal Liberation Orchestra, Leslie
Helpert, and Aaron Holstein of ZILLA, plus surprise guests.
Rock the Earth worked alongside Conscious Alliance this summer
throughout the String Cheese Incident tour. They are incredible
group of music fans dedicated to helping Native Americans
and homeless people across the country by raising money and
donated food for local food pantries and impoverished Indian
Reservations. If you live in the Denver/Boulder area, come
see this show and help out another great organization. Don't
forget to stop by the Rock the Earth table to say hello to
our volunteers!
