| Sara Pekar is a volunteer staff member of Rock
the Earth and contributes to the Fundraising Committee. Sara
joined Rock the Earth after being turned on to the mission by
a friend who learned about the organization at SummerCamp during
the summer of 2005. From there she was thrilled when the opportunity
arose to table a Gov't Mule show, where she worked one-on-one
with Marc Ross, the Executive Director.
After tabling only one event, it was evident that she needed
and wanted to do more, which happened when she was asked to
become a Staff member. Sara has over 6 years nonprofit development
experience and as held various positions in the field, including
the Development Director for Big Brothers Big Sister, until
March of 2006. Currently she works as an event/meeting planner
and graphic designer for the American Bar Association, in Chicago,
IL. She is a graduate of Lewis University where she earned her
Master's in Organizational Leadership Studies. Sara is an outdoor
enthusiast who enjoys activities like camping, hiking, rafting,
skiing, and biking and has a deep love for the music community.
