Lara Pearson is the President of the Law Office
of Lara Pearson, Ltd., an intellectual property (“IP”)
law firm based in Incline Village, Nevada, on the northeast shore
of Lake Tahoe. Lara focuses exclusively on trademarks, copyrights
and rights of publicity, assuring that her clients’ IP issues
and other legal matters are handled quickly, creatively and cost
effectively in an environment that reflects the tranquility of
her natural surroundings. Lara combines her love for live, improvisational
music with her expertise in trademark law to protect performing
artists’ intellectual property rights. Lara’s enthusiasm
for IP law led to her co-founding the State Bar of Nevada’s
Section of Intellectual Property Law, of which she is the Immediate
Past Chairperson.
A native of Cleveland, Ohio, Lara is a graduate of the University
of Missouri, Columbia, and Northeastern University School of Law
in Boston, Massachusetts. Her passion for the outdoors brought
her to Tahoe in 1998. She served as a legal intern (called an
“extern”) to the Honorable Justice Miriam Shearing
on the Nevada Supreme Court, before working for the Nevada State
Public Defender’s office until 1999 when she began practicing
intellectual property law while working for a Reno law firm.
Lara serves as the Secretary of the Board of 1%
for the Planet®, a world-wide non-profit association
of businesses that each donates at least 1% of its annual revenue
to protecting the natural environment. She also serves on the
Advisory Board of Rock the Earth®, a national public interest
environmental advocacy organization that protects and defends
America's natural resources through partnerships with the music
industry and the world-wide environmental community.
Privileged to live in one of the most beautiful places on Earth,
Lara is committed to doing her part to ensure that the natural
environment is not only protected, but thriving, for generations
to come. Lara enjoys spending time outdoors hiking, road biking,
climbing or snowboarding.
