| Cliff Levenson, after attending hundreds of Grateful
Dead and other shows, graduated from Northwestern College of
Law of Lewis and Clark College, with a J.D. and a Certificate
in Environmental and Natural Resources Law in 1992. While at
Lewis and Clark, Cliff was an intern with Northwest Environmental
Defense Center, and was Current Materials Editor of Environmental
Law, the school’s law review.
Cliff returned to Arizona after graduation and was Tactical Research
Director of the Southwest Center for Biological Diversity. After
passing the Arizona Bar, Cliff was counsel for that organization
in state public records act, FOIA, ESA, NEPA, NHPA, and NARFA
cases. While the Southwest Center grew and became the Center for
Biological Diversity, Cliff focused on raising his son, and on
his career as a public defender. In 2000, Cliff moved to Orange
County, to get his body mind and spirit together and to learn
to surf.
Having had reasonable success in those efforts, Cliff returned
to Phoenix to open his own law practice in late 2006, with an
emphasis on serving the Vietnamese-American community, and with
a renewed commitment to work on environmental and social issues.
